As a Youth Team Member, you will play a pivotal role in working with the Youth Team Leader to guide and support the spiritual and personal growth of our church’s young people. Your passion for mentoring, connecting, and empowering youth will contribute to creating a vibrant and inclusive community where young individuals can thrive.

*Please note this role necessitates a PVG (Police Vulnerable Sector Check) certificate.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and organising relevant activities, events, and programs for youth.
  • Create a welcoming and non-judgmental space where young people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
  • Foster positive relationships with youth, providing mentorship, guidance, and a listening ear.
  • Facilitate discussions and interactive sessions that encourage open dialogue about faith, values, and life challenges.
  • Collaborate with fellow Youth Team Members to design engaging lessons and experiences.
  • Encourage youth participation in church services, volunteer opportunities, and community outreach.
  • Promote a sense of unity, diversity, and inclusivity within the youth community.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to youth facing personal or spiritual struggles.
  • Maintain communication with parents or guardians, sharing updates and addressing concerns.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings to stay informed about curriculum, safety, and church policies.

Qualifications:

  • Genuine care and passion for the growth and development of young individuals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect with youth, parents, and fellow team members.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust and rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Creativity and adaptability to design meaningful activities and discussions.
  • Reliability and punctuality in attending church services, events, and youth programs.
  • Understanding of youth development principles and strategies for positive engagement.
  • Respect for the church’s values, mission, and the unique challenges faced by today’s youth.
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate effectively to achieve shared goals.
  • Prior experience in mentoring, teaching, or working with youth is advantageous but not mandatory.
