As a Kids Team Member, you will play a vital role working with the Kids Team Leader to create a nurturing and engaging environment for primary school aged children attending our church services and events. Your dedication to providing a positive and impactful experience for young attendees will contribute to their spiritual growth and sense of belonging.

*Please note this role necessitates a PVG (Police Vulnerable Sector Check) certificate.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, lessons, and programs for children.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere where children feel valued and cared for.
  • Engage in meaningful interactions with children, building positive relationships and encouraging their curiosity.
  • Guide children in understanding and exploring faith-based concepts through stories, discussions, and interactive activities.
  • Ensure that safety protocols are followed at all times, including sign-in and sign-out procedures.
  • Collaborate with fellow Kids Team Members to coordinate activities and maintain a structured schedule.
  • Support children with diverse needs and provide appropriate accommodations as necessary.
  • Assist in setting up and organizing materials, supplies, and resources for children’s programs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings to stay informed about curriculum, safety, and church policies.

  • Genuine love for children and a passion for their spiritual growth and well-being.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with children, parents, and fellow team members.
  • Creativity and adaptability to engage children in age-appropriate activities and lessons.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a positive and supportive environment.
  • Reliability and punctuality in attending church services, events, and kids’ programs.
  • Understanding of basic child development principles and appropriate behavior management techniques.
  • Respect for the church’s values, mission, and the diverse backgrounds of attendees.
  • Willingness to collaborate as part of a team to ensure a cohesive and impactful kids’ program.
  • Prior experience in childcare, teaching, or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory.
